Hardwick Shoot, is a small, friendly, none profitable mid-week Shoot, The Land Owned by the Chatsworth Estate is nestled in the Derbyshire countryside offering challenging Driven Pheasant/Partridge Shooting from various cover crops, to Beat crops and woodland. Established in 2007, we have moved forward year 0n year. Our prime interests are Conservation, to create habitats not only for Game Birds, but all wildlife. We shoot Pheasant and Partridge, with French Partridge being our main interest, although there is a 50/50 Pheasant/Partridge release programme. There is a High-Level Stewardship in place on the Estate, to encourage English(Grey) Partridge, in which we are succeeding. Shooting over many covers, using various varieties of different covers, experimenting on biannual crops to cut down on ever increasing costs (Canary Reed Grass, Chicory, Sweet Clover, Kale etc). Not only does it cut down on cost, it also provides good brood rearing habitat, as the cover stands all year round, and provides food in the form of seed and insects and protects from predation. Also feeding all year around Hardwick shoot covers over 600 acres in total, we are a small shoot offering relaxed days of circa 70-100. The shoot party starts the day at our local 15th century pub for a hearty full English breakfast, here we draw our pegs (Ten Standing Guns) and move to our first drive around 10.00am, Elevenses included in the day of 6/7 drives in a day’s shooting.

Here at Hardwick we shoot around 10 days a season, in beautiful Derbyshire countryside where the Topography changes from Valleys to woods. Local accommodation available where necessary.

please call Gary on 07931 546599 to secure a peg.
